Proscopia

Even Proscopia look like stick insects, they belong to the Cealifera. Easy to inditificate is this through their cannon bones. But Proscopia just jump in case of danger, espeically young nymphs. Typical for this genus is the head, which gives the genus its name Horse Head Grasshopper.

At present, at least 13 species are described, e.g. Proscopia geanosa (WALKER, 1870), P. oculata (KLUG, 1820) and P. scabra (KLUG, 1820).
